(HealthDay News) — Hamstring injuries are common during running and other forms of exercise. But do you know the most common warning signs?
The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons mentions these potential symptoms:
- A severe, sudden pain in the back of the thigh while exercising. It may be so sharp that you either fall or can’t put weight on the injured leg.
- Swelling of the hamstring within a few hours.
- Bruising or change in skin color on the back of the thigh below the knee.
- Feeling weak in the hamstring for several weeks.
