(HealthDay News) — If you have chronic sinus inflammation, a bacterial infection probably isn’t the cause. So there’s no need for an antibiotic, which only treats a bacterial infection.
To help tame chronic sinusitis, the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology advises:
- Steer clear of any activities that tend to worsen symptoms.
- Avoid any known allergy triggers, such as prolonged exposure to trees or ragweed.
- Consider managing allergies with allergy shots or medication.
- Talk to your doctor about a nasal spray that may help calm symptoms.
