(HealthDay News) — Marijuana is a commonly used psychoactive drug among young people in the United States.
More than 11 million young adults ages 18 to 25 used marijuana in 2015, the National Institute of Drug Abuse says. The illicit drug contains the mind-altering chemical THC.
Short-term effects of marijuana use include:
- Altered sense of time.
- Changes in mood.
- Difficulty problem-solving.
- Impaired memory and body movement.
