(HealthDay News) — As your child transitions from high school to life as a college student, you can still show that you care — from a distance.
The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests:
- Call your child regularly to check in.
- Visit your child at school, more frequently than just on parents’ weekend.
- Get to know the parents of your child’s roommates and friends.
- If you suspect homesickness, encourage your child to talk to school counselors.
